Introduction:
Foothills Bluegrass Music is a volunteer society dedicated to promoting bluegrass music in the Foothills community through membership, bursaries, workshops, concerts, local jam sessions, and so much more. Their concert series runs from June through to September, featuring talent locally, and internationally. Foothills Bluegrass Music Society knows music and fun go together and cannot wait to share their passion with you! Brian Fukushima is the FBMS's Vice President and is in charge of deciding what updates will be made to the website. We ask Brian to start the process of moving the website from Joomla to Webflow and redesigning it.
How it was build:
Foothills Bluegrass Music Society: We first looked for a typeface that resembled the logo, which is Suezone and Rye, and Inconsolata for the paragraphs and button.
Our next step was finding a video that complements website well because most bands feature string instruments.
Following that, we created the full-width navigation, which displays all of the main pages and sub-pages. We also placed FBMS's contact emails, social media profiles, and address on the right side of the menu.
The next section of the home page was for the event, where you may view what is upcoming and past events.
The news section has a full-width background image of string instrument and used the content of Jam Session.
Next, we added the banner from the old website, but instead of the banner, we utilized a background of 100 viewport height to make the website look uniform across sections.
The Membership page came next, with a full-width high-resolution backdrop photograph from their previous event and has a button that will redirect you to Membership page.
The footer is the final portion of the home page, where we include the sponsors on the left side, the events link in the middle, and the newsletter with social media icons on the right side. We also used string instrument as background image.
For the website's inner sections, we used string instruments or assets from previous events and incorporated them as full-width background images to each area.
Shady Grove Bluegrass Festival: We designed the SGBF around the event's concept. First, we used a slider element for the hero page, added the event banner, and included some photos from the previous event.
The next section has contents of event's detailed information.
Following that, we included a section called Featured Weekly Bands/Artists, which includes buttons that take you to additional information about each band.
Next was the section for downloadable Event Program. It also has links for IOS and Android Mobile App.
The footer section of SGBF has the logo of sponsors and other details of the festival, location address and emails address on how to contact the festival. It also has the logo link of Foothills Bluegrass Music Society, when click it will go to the home page of FBMS.
Result:
Migrating the Foothills Bluegrass Music Society is very difficult because of the redundancy of sub-menus of every pages.
Conclusion:
